Lana Del Rey-Summer Time Sadness (Recap/Review)

             O.K. If you follow me on Tumblr or Pinterest you know I'm a little bit of a Lana Del Rey fan. (O.K. maybe a lot bit) I think I have listened to her cd a million times, and certain songs a billion times. Well I was super happy this morning when I woke up to find that she had made a video for one of my favorite songs of hers, "SummerTime Sadness"

               
I was very happy to see that she kept with the tone of theme of the song (or the theme of the song that I got). About those last few days you have with someone who you have built some type of relationship with during the summertime. I noticed in the comments as always with all of Miss Del Rey's videos there is a bit of a debate as to the meaning of the song. Some are wondering if they are lesbian lovers, and some are wondering if they are best friends.
    I tend to over analyze things, so I'm going to say it's a little bit of both. (Though I'm more than likely totally wrong). I got that they met while vacationing in Europe, and ended up becoming very close. I'm gonna go as far to say that they more than likely started off as friends, but it ended up crossing the path of lovers. Then the reality of the summer ending starting coming in, and I'm going to say with both girls looking upper class. Being a lesbian might not be in the plans for their families, or maybe even one of them have someone they are promised to back home. Hence the sadness of the romance ending. It also looks as if one of the girls gets so upset about this that she ends up jumping off a bridge. Now I'm more than likely totally wrong about this, but this is what I got from the video.
   The video has ex-supermodel turned Scream queen Jamie King as the Best Friend/Love interest, and she did an awesome job in this video. Almost made me tear up a few times, because she was def giving pure raw emotion for the Camera. Which makes me wonder why no one has really giving Jamie some serious drama acting roles, because she looks like she can really deliver acting wise. (Hollywood give this girl some meat..she has the chops for it!)
   As with all Lana Del Rey videos, someone had to go at the end. This time it looked like it was Jamie's character this time. Again I really really liked this video, as I have felt with all of her videos.(My favorite being Born To Die) She has been serving us wonderful Realiness this summer with this video and national anthem from a few weeks a go. For this, We thank you Miss Del Rey.
